Education UK is running a series of Education UK Talks for students who want to further their study in the UK at both Master’s and Doctoral levels. The programme covers essential issues to help students find their right course.

The talks will be from July to November 2009 with each based on a particular subject area e.g. Business, Arts & Design, Law, Hotel & Hospitality as well as guidelines for PhD students on how to write an effective research proposal. 

The sessions also provide students with an opportunity to meet UK alumni representatives from UK universities and to participate in a mock interview session.

 CLIMATE COOL

Climate Cool is a project initiated by the British Council in collaboration with Youth Venture Thailand, A Day magazine, and the British Embassy Bangkok, targeting emerging leaders aged 18 – 35 who are keen to take action to reduce or adapt to climate change. We will be giving you the skills, resources and connections to engage large numbers of people in action to develop climate solutions and to represent the voice of young people in the international climate change debate, while raising awareness of climate change in your community. The networking evening, co-organised by the British Chamber of Commerce Thailand, the British Council's Thai-UK Alumni Network and the Old England Students Association is a get-together for Thai and British business groups in various areas to get to know one another to expand the network.

The tradition of holding an annual dinner for Oxford and Cambridge University graduates in Bangkok dates back to 1940. For this year’s dinner, we are most privileged to have alumni from both universities attending the event, such as HE Mr. Anand Panyarachun (Trinity, Cambridge, 1952), Mr. Somtow Sucharitkul (St Catherine’s, Cambridge, 1972), Professor Vitit Muntrabhorn (Keble, Oxford 1971). RECENT HIGHLIGHT
 Educa 2009 and the first international conference on learning and teaching
 Burapha University recently organised a press conference for Educa 2009 and the first international conference on learning and teaching at the Ministry of Education. As one of the supporters of this event, the British Council will invite Gavin Dudeney, learning technology specialist, to conduct a workshop on ‘virtual teacher support network’ on 16 October as well as hosting the ‘UK pavilion’ featuring new research and innovations from UK institutions including Sheffield Hallam University, Northumbria University and NCC Education.
